FAQs

WHat is a “housekeeping cabin”?

Our cabins are considered “housekeeping cabins” - which is essentially like a modern Airbnb in a lot of ways - you do your own cleaning / cooking / etc. No towel or room cleaning services are provided after check-in or before check-out. Full kitchens with a stove, sink and a full bathroom are provided. Please note: the cabins include 5 turkish style beach towels, 1 washcloth and 1 dish towel per cabin per week. Some people know they go through a lot more - or prefer a more traditional towel - please bring what you need to be comfortable. We will also provide one roll of paper towels upon arrival and plenty of septic safe toilet paper for your stay.

Do you provide towels and linens?

Your cabin includes well made and cozy beds with 4 pillows, sheets and duvet per queen bed. 5 turkish style beach towels are provided per cabin as well as 1 washcloth, 1 dish towel, dish soap, a bar of soap and 1 roll of paper towels. We do not provide shampoo and conditioner or other personal toiletries - please bring or we will have available for purchase in the Honor Store.

Do you provide a full kitchen in the cabins?

Yes! All of our lodging includes everything needed for a basic kitchen. Stove, sink, fridge, microwave, toaster and basic coffee maker. We also include needed kitchen furnishings such as dishes, cookware etc. We have really pared down on “unneeded” items and cleaned the kitchens up quite a bit to provide just enough and not overcrowd the shelves. That being said, if you need something you don’t see in your kitchen - the lodge kitchen is available for any cabin at any time to use to your heart’s content - including a broader array of kitchen items or larger serving dishes.

when is check-in?

Check-in begins at 3pm. If you believe you will be arriving later than 7pm - please let us know so we can have your cabin ready for your later arrival and make it easy for you and catch up with you in the morning. Please note - Casa Kona check-in is at 4pm.

When do we pay for our cabin?

Upon arrival. If you have not yet paid by the credit card system automatically - we will charge your card for that (3% fee applies for cc use in 2023). If you are paying by check, we will take payment upon arrival and then will implement a “pay as you go” system for any additional charges incurred throughout the week. This is a bit different than the past, but our hope is for this to be easier and smoother at check-out.

how many cars can we have ?

We have room for a maximum of two vehicles per cabin on resort grounds. Additional vehicles will need to be parked off-site on our resort back acreage. Each cabin has designated parking - new in 2023 - to improve the usability of grass areas and reduce clutter near areas guest like to use - and additional making things safer for our youngest guests. Please do not park on grass with the exception of designated spots - thanks!

CAN we have “day guests” at our cabin?

will we have wifi in our cabin?

Wifi is available in the lodge for all guests and is a strong signal. Wifi is not available in the cabins. We have excellent 5g cell coverage in the area - especially AT&T - and have had no issues with tethering a hot spot from our phones in the cabin. Casa Kona has wifi in the house as well. If you are very reliant on wifi and need a private space to work - we recommend bringing a hot spot with you as the signal from the lodge is not strong enough to rely on.

what about the lodge? What is it?

Our 2000 sq foot lodge has been renovated for the 2023 season to include lots of seating and dining space - and just a great space for rainy days. We will no longer have video games in the space - but do have a large TV, ring toss game, board games, etc. Ping Pong has been added to the porch as well as other yard games like Cornhole.

can I bring my boat?

Absolutely. We have space for each cabin to have one dock space - and likely more should you have two boats in your party - please let us know ahead if this is the case. Please note that it is VERY important that you decontaminate your boat prior to launching into Kabekona Lake. The lake has NO INVASIVE SPECIES and is considered a “clean lake” that is high value due to its fisheries. That being said, we love this lake and take this seriously. To use the lake boat launches your boat must be out of any other waters for at LEAST 5 days and is absolutely clean with no weeds and empty live wells. If your boat has been in another lake within the past five days you MUST go the Hubbard County decontamination site for them to spray your boat with very hot water. Please provide proof (via photo or decontamination reciept) if you are coming from other lake. A photo of the boat at the decontamination site or it’s receipt is considered proof. No proof is required if your boat has been out of all waters for at least 5 days. Thank you and grateful in advance for you understanding our desire to take care of this special lake.
